Homework: 

Read A Long Way Gone Chapters 2 and 3 with packet questions and Active Reading post it notes (to be checked).  Post it notes needed for this unit. If you don’t use post it notes, you will be required to fully write quotes with page numbers and discussion in your English notebook.

(Please bring books to class each day.  We will have some in class reading days.)

I.             Do Now:  Please take out A Long Way Gone book and post it notes for chapter 1.  (Packet-Chapter 1 questions and Reading Schedule)

-Active Reading Review:  Choose a significant passage as you read.  Track motifs, symbols, direct and indirect examples of characterization, themes, conflicts, make predictions and any other comment that you feel is important.
